Simple Flight Review

Review. Analyze. Improve. Every flight.

Thank-you gift Windows app. A thank-you gift for anyone who supports my work.

Simple Flight Review open on a laptop, showing a landing scored 93, a height trace of the final thirty seconds, and a list of past flights.

Fly, press stop, get a debrief. Simple Flight Review records the flight through SimConnect and analyses it the way a real flight data monitoring programme would: your approach against a stabilisation gate, your touchdown against the aircraft's own reference speeds, and your landing against the runway you actually landed on.

What comes out is one self-contained HTML file. Read it, keep it, print it, or send it to someone.

The Landing

  • Scored out of 100Across eight components, worst first, so you know what to work on rather than what to celebrate.
  • How you arrivedTouchdown rate, loading, wings level, flare attitude and alignment.
  • Where you arrivedCentreline accuracy and where on the runway you actually touched down.
  • The final thirty secondsA detailed trace of the last half minute before touchdown.
  • The real runwayRunway geometry read from the simulator itself, not from a public database that may not match what you flew.

The Approach

  • 22 detectorsTaken from published flight data monitoring guidance, not invented for the app.
  • The usual suspectsUnstable approach, high descent rate near the ground, flap and speed exceedances.
  • And the restStall warnings, bounces, side load, long rollouts, tailstrike margin and go-arounds.

While You Fly

  • Live warningsStall, flap limits, descent rate, bank angle, and gear still up on final.
  • Records by itselfStart the flight and it captures; you do not have to remember to.

Afterwards

  • Your own trendsHow you are doing over time, per aircraft — whether your landings are getting smoother or firmer.
  • Planned against flownDistance, altitude and fuel compared with the plan, when a route comes across from the planner.
  • One file per flightOpens anywhere, prints properly, and needs nothing installed to read it.
  • Store, search, compareEvery flight in one place, so you can put two of them side by side.
  • Share itSend a debrief, a highlight or your stats to a friend or a group.
It says when it does not know. No profile for your aircraft? The debrief says so at the top, names what is approximate, and keeps going rather than presenting a guess as a measurement. Fly into the ground and it says so plainly, and declines to grade it.
Offline by design. No account, no internet connection, no subscription — runway and airport data for the whole world is bundled. Comparing against a flight plan is optional, and uses the free Simple Flight Tracker.
